We're behind the mic, mixing the audio, and getting prepped for launch. The stories, the sounds, the city, it's all coming. Stay tuned!
LAUNCH SEQUENCE INITIATED!How we listen based on James 1:19
Las Vegas is always spoken for. Tourism speaks for it. Marketing speaks for it. The postcard speaks for it. ListenVegas exists so the people who actually live here can speak for themselves.
ListenVegas records the Las Vegas that actually lives and breathes here.
We give residents, workers, artists, and builders a place to tell their own story, untouched by tourism and unscripted by marketing. We keep those voices clear enough to hear today and worth keeping later.
Listening is not a concept here. It is the product.
A city this loud already knows how to talk AT people. The rare skill is actually hearing them. Our rule has three parts, and it applies to everyone, not only the polished, famous, or convenient. Neighbors, late-shift workers, small business owners, artists, longtime locals, interesting contributors and newcomers who actually do life here.
Ready, careful, thoughtful. The microphone points at the guest. We don't decide what the content is about before they talk, and afterward we should be able to tell their story in their words, not only in our theme.
Few words, the right words. We don't fill every silence, correct anyone's Vegas, or turn a life into a tip list or an ad. One good question is better than a speech. In editing, we cut out the host before we cut the guest.
Patience with real people. Guests ramble, stall, contradict themselves, get nervous, get lost for words or miss the amazing ending we imagined. We don't rush them or steer them. We stay with the person until the true meaning shows up.
I do not own the story.
I make room, manage the mic, and stay quiet long enough for real life to be told.
My voice is trained. But the ear must perform first.

Three doors. One assignment: just let people tell their story.
Front-row seats to unscripted conversations with people who live here and have a story to tell. Not the Strip's version of the city nor the peoples' lives. A record of what it is like to live a life behind the neon.
The same discipline, offered to other shows: hear what is meant, clean the sound, and never edit you out of the equation. See production packages
Voices and stories kept as personal keepsakes, not for the public. A parent, a friend, a family member, a memory or moment that should not vanish after the room goes quiet.
Every episode has to answer these honestly before it goes out.
Everything on this page grows out of one line I have carried with me for a long time. It comes from my faith, and it is the personal reason I work the way I do. I am not sharing it to tell you what to believe. I am sharing it so you know what to expect from me when I open your microphone.
Let everyone be quick to hear, a careful, thoughtful listener; slow to speak, a speaker of carefully chosen words; slow to anger, patient, reflective, and forgiving.
James 1:19, Amplified BibleWhatever you believe, I think you will recognize it as a good way to treat someone who is telling you their story, no matter your background.

We do not speak for this city. We make a room where the city can speak for itself.
